Aggressive selling by producers kept the sugar market bearish on Friday. Limited demand and selling of the commodity at ₹20-40 a quintal lower prices pushed down spot prices at Vashi.

Naka rates were steady. Arrivals to the Vashi market were steady at 58-60 truck loads and local dispatches were about 55-57 loads. Freight rates were steady. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹3,340-3,500 and M-grade ₹3,450-3,722. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,310-3,450 and M-grade ₹3,410-3,550.
