Vashi sugar market ruled steady with minor changes as per variety on Tuesday. Supply from mills was ample and morale was steady, said sources.
Arrivals at Vashi increased to 34-35 truckloads (each of 10 tonnes) and local dispatches were at 33-34 truckloads. Inventories at Vashi increased to 78-80 truckloads. Freight rates were steady at ₹85-100 per bag.
On Monday evening, 17-18 mills offered tenders and sold about 38,000-40,000 bags at ₹3,110-3,170 (₹3,110-3,170) for S-grade and ₹3,160-3,230 (₹3,160- 3,230) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association's spot rates were (₹/quintal):
S-grade ₹3,260-3,322 (₹3,250-3,342) and M-grade ₹3,330-3,490 (₹3,330- 3,490).
Naka delivery rates were (₹/quintal): S-grade 3,210-3,250 (3,210-3,250) and M-grade 3,240-3,350 (3,240-3,350).
