Sugar prices ruled flat for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday on routine demand and supply. Naka rates were down by ₹10-20 a quintal for old stocks, while a minor increase was witnessed for new stocks. As mills were eager to sell, most sale tender offers were open and prices remained unchanged.
Arrivals at the Vashi market were 60-61 truckloads and local dispatches were 58-60 loads. On Wednesday evening, 19-20 mills offered tenders and sold about 38,000-40,000 bags at ₹2,360-2,500 (₹2,360-2,500) for S-grade and ₹2,520-2,600 (2,520-2,600) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,482-2,580 (2,482-2,580) and M-grade ₹2,582-2,712 (2,582-2,712). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,410-2,520 (2,430-2,530) and M-grade ₹2,530-2,650 (2,530-2,670).
