Sugar market ruled flat on Wednesday on normal demand, supply and volumes. Prices at all level from mill to market level remained steady with minor changes on ample supply and stocks.
Sources said with enough stocks on hand and continuous supply from mills kept wholesale activities thin and need-based. Local retail demand also remained eased. Vashi market carries about 120-125 truck loads stocks.
Arrivals to the Vashi market were stable at 61-62 truck loads while local dispatches were at 60-61 loads. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹3,176-3,252 (3,176-3,252) and M-grade ₹3,242-3,382 (3,242-3,392). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,170-3,200 (3,180-3,240) and M-grade ₹3,240-3,300 (3,230-3,300).
