Sugar market ruled flat on Tuesday on routine demand, supply and volume. Prices at all level remained steady as demand eased. Fear of lifting pressure on stockists for the next few days kept the morale weak, said sources.
Arrivals at Vashi were 39-40 truck loads (of 10 tonnes each) and local dispatches were at 40-41 loads. Inventories were at 78-80 loads. Freight rates were steady at ₹80-100 per bag.
On Monday evening, 15-16 mills offered tenders and sold about 44,000-45,000 bags at ₹3,120-3,200 for S-grade and ₹3,220-3,300 for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association spot rates (₹/quintal): S-grade 3,310-3,362 and M-grade 3,350-3,562. Naka delivery rates(₹/quintal): S-grade 3,280-3,300 and M-grade 3,320-3,390.
