Only 82 per cent of 13.13 lakh kg offered in Sale No: 26 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association auction was sold in the second pan-India e-auction against 92 per cent in the first auction. This is despite the average prices falling to ₹97.68 a kg from last week’s ₹98.20. The Broken Pekoe of Homedale Estate, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped the Leaf auction as also the entire CTC market when Ketti Valley Tea India P Ltd., bought it for ₹196/kg. Darmona estate’s Broken Orange Pekoe Small came next at ₹191. In the Dust Tea auction, Homedale Estate’s Red Dust, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, and Vigneshwar Speciality Pekoe Dust, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing, topped at ₹190 each. In the orthodox market, Kodanad topped at ₹282 a kg followed by Kairbetta ₹220 and Havukal ₹215.
