Pepper prices ruled steady as availability of quality material was tight. On the terminal market, 22 tonnes arrived but it was of low bulk density and mixture of both old and new pepper, market sources told BusinessLine . They were traded at ₹640-675 a kg.
Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹65,900 (ungarbled) and ₹68,900 (garbled) a quintal. January, February and March contracts on the IPSTA stayed steady at ₹69,000, ₹67,000 and ₹62,000 a quintal. Export prices were at $10,375 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,625 for the US.
