The arrival of turmeric has increased, but only medium and poor quality arrived heavily and only negligible number of fine variety turmeric arrived for sale. said RKV Ravishankar a trader. Some 40 bags of fine variety were arrived at the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association and were sold for increased price of ₹300 a quintal. Similarly 20 bags of fine variety, root variety were sold for increased price of ₹200 a quintal. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association Sales yard, finger turmeric sold at ₹5,689 to ₹8,649 a quintal, root varietysold at ₹5,323 to 7,900 a quintal. Of the arrival of 1,794 bags only 1,122 bags were sold. At the Regulated Marketing Committee, finger turmeric sold at ₹7,239 to ₹8,410 a quintal, root varietysold at ₹6,869 to ₹7,753 a quintal. Out of 1,107 bags kept for sale, 976 bags were sold. At the Erode Cooperative Marketing Society, finger turmericsold at ₹7,299 to ₹8,299 a quintal, root variety sold at ₹6,609 to ₹7,441 a quintal. 237 bags placed for sale and 143 bags were sold. At the Erode Cooperative Marketing Society, finger turmeric sold at ₹7,411 to₹8,463 a quintal, root variety sold at ₹6,931 to ₹7863 a quintal. All the 383 bags placed for sale were sold.
