Turmeric futures prices fell by over one per cent to Rs 8,950 a quintal after speculators booked profits, however, some export queries limited the losses.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in May shed Rs 96, or 1.06 per cent to Rs 8,950 a quintal with an open interest of 13,680 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June lost Rs 30 or 0.34 per cent to Rs 8,740 a quintal with a business volume of 5,357 lots.
Analysts said emergence of profit-booking by speculators after yesterday’s gains, mainly led to the decline in prices here but export demand restricted the losses.
