Spot turmeric prices increased due to arrival of good quality produce. Nearly 3,200 bags arrived for sale to the four markets at Erode and 90 per cent of them found takers. Finger turmeric was up ₹100 a quintal, but the root variety lost ₹350. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association, the finger turmeric went for ₹5,769-8,700 a quintal; the root variety for ₹5,355-7,789. Of the 1,973 bags that arrived, 635 were sold.
