Prices of spot turmeric decreased ₹200 a quintal on Thursday. “Only medium and poor quality turmeric arrived for sale and so traders quoted a lower price and procured 50 to 60 per cent of the arrivals. Prices will fluctuate by ₹100 to ₹200 a quintal for another one month and everyone is expecting the price to rise by June”, said RKV Ravishankar, President, Erode Turmeric Merchants Association. Finger turmeric decreased ₹100 a quintal in the Regulated Market Committee and Gobichettipalayam Agricultural Cooperative Marketing society.
