Uptrend in chana continuing for the past few days on weak availability and higher prices of chana in neighbouring States with chana (kanta) in mandis at Indore today being quoted at ₹4,500 a quintal (down ₹100), while chana (desi) ruled at ₹4,400 and chana (vishal) at ₹4,500 a quintal. According to traders here, decline in sowing area has also added to an uptrend in chana.
The rise in chana lifted its dal with chana dal (average) quoted at ₹6,100-₹6,200, chana dal (medium) at ₹6,300-6,400, while chana dal (bold) ruled at ₹6,500-6,600 a quintal respectively. Dollar chana ruled firm at ₹5,000-5,500 a quintal . In container dollar chana (42/44 count) ruled at ₹5,800- 5,900, dollar chana (44/46 count) at ₹5,700, while dollar chana (58/60 count) was at ₹5,000 a quintal. Our Correspondent
