A total of 8.05 lakh kg has been catalogued for Sale No: 6 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association auction to be held on Thursday and Friday. This is some 8,000 kg less than last week’s offer.
Of this, 5.49 lakh kg belongs to leaf grades and 2.56 lakh kg, dust grade. As much as 7.20 lakh kg belongs to the CTC variety and only 85,000 kg, orthodox variety. In the leaf counter, only 43,000 kg belongs to orthodox while 5.06 lakh kg, CTC. Among the dusts, only 42,000 kg belongs to orthodox while 2.14 lakh kg, CTC. Vigneshwar Speciality Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing, topped Leaf auctions and entire CTC market last week when Santhosh Tea Industries bought it for at ₹266/kg.
Super Red Dust of Darmona Estate, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing, topped Dust auctions when Nisha Enterprises bought it for ₹241 a kg.
