A volume of 14.54 lakh kg has been catalogued for Sale No: 41 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association auctions to be held on Thursday and Friday.

This is some five lakh kg less than last week’s offer.

Of this, 9.62 lakh kg belongs to leaf grades and 4.92 lakh kg, dust grades. As much as 13.51 lakh kg belongs to CTC variety and only 1.03 lakh kg, orthodox variety.

In the leaf counter, only 62,000 kg belongs to orthodox while nine lakh kg, CTC. Among the dusts, only 41,000 kg belongs to orthodox while 4.51 lakh kg, CTC.

Homedale Estate’s Broken Pekoe tea, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped the entire CTC market last week when PS Tea Industries bought it for ₹251 a kg. In the CTC Dust tea auctions, Homedale Estate’s Pekoe Dust tea, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped at ₹240 a kg. Darmona Estate followed at ₹220.
