A volume of 12.38 lakh kg has been catalogued for Sale No: 51 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association to be held on Thursday and Friday. This is 1.26 lakh kg less than last week’s offer. Of this, 8.26 lakh kg belongs to leaf grades and 4.12 lakh kg, dust grade. As much as 11.15 lakh kg belongs to CTC variety and only 1.23 lakh kg, orthodox variety. In the leaf counter, only 62,000 kg belongs to orthodox while 7.64 lakh kg, CTC. Among the dusts, only 61,000 kg belongs to orthodox while 3.51 lakh kg, CTC. Pekoe Dust of Vigneshwar Speciality, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing, topped dust auction and CTC market last week when Sree Sai Corporation bought it for ₹229 a kg. Super Red Dust of Darmona Estate, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing, came next when Sree Sai Corporation bought it for ₹209. Two other grades of Vigneshwar, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing fetched ₹200. The leaf tea auction was topped by Vigneshwar Speciality Broken Pekoe fetching ₹200. In all, 65 marks got ₹125 and more.
