The third pan-India e-auction at Coonoor Tea Trade Association to be held on Friday will see a volume of 15.96 lakh kg — 2.83 lakh kg more than last week’s offer. Of this, 10.46 lakh kg belongs to leaf grades and 5.50 lakh kg, dust grade.
As much as 14.51 lakh kg belongs to CTC variety and only 1.45 lakh kg, orthodox variety. Quotations held by brokers last week indicated bids ranging ₹82-84 a kg for plain leaf grades and ₹100-130 for brighter liquoring sorts. They ranged ₹90- 91 for plain dusts and ₹110-160 for brighter liquoring dusts.
