A volume of 8 lakh kg has been catalogued for Sale No: 19 of the Coonoor Tea Trade Association auction, to be concluded on Friday. This is some 9,000 kg less than last week’s offer. Of this, 5.03 lakh kg belongs to leaf grades and 2.97 lakh kg to dust grade.
In the CTC Dust auction last week, Vigneshwar Speciality Red Dust, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing, topped when Ganesh Enterprises bought it for ₹81. Hittakkal Speciality’s Red Dust and Super Red Dust (each ₹65), auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing, Homedale Estate’s Pekoe Dust (₹215), auctioned by Global Tea Brokers and Darmona Estate’s Pekoe Dust (₹204), auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing, were the only other Dust grades which fetched over ₹200/kg.
