The rupee opened 2 paise higher at Rs 45.65 per US dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market today, largely on dollar inflows and firming Asian currencies overseas.
The domestic unit gained 7 paise to close at Rs 45.67/68 against the US dollar in the previous session amid late dollar-selling and a rebound in the equity market. The domestic currency had fallen to a nine-month low in the opening trade yesterday.
