The rupee was trading strong by 11 paise at 61.80 against the American currency at 2.14 p.m. local time on selling of dollars by banks and exporters due to weakness of the greenback overseas.
The domestic unit resumed higher at 61.88 per dollar against the last closing level of 61.91 at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market and hovered in a range of 61.88-61.92.
In the overseas market, the dollar dropped against the euro and other major currencies yesterday as Treasury yields edged lower.
