The rupee extended gains for the fourth straight day against the US currency on Thursday, advancing by seven paise to close at 65.51 to the dollar on selling of the greenback by banks and exporters on hopes of more foreign capital inflows into the equity market. Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) net bought shares worth ₹116.08 crore on Wednesday, according to the provisional figures issued by stock exchanges. The rupee resumed steady at 65.58 at the forex market. It moved in the 65.48-65.67 range before ending at 65.51.
