Gold futures fell 0.23 per cent to Rs 27,248 per 10 grams today as participants indulged in reducing exposures, largely in line with a global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in far-month April eased Rs 62 or 0.23 per cent to trade at Rs 27,248 per 10 grams in a turnover of just one lot.

Similarly, gold for delivery in February shed Rs 44 or 0.16 per cent to Rs 27,029 per ten grams.

Globally, gold lost as much as 0.3 per cent to $1,192.55 an ounce in Singapore.

Analysts said a weak trend overseas as dollar’s strength curbs the demand for the precious metal, weighed on gold prices at the futures trade here.
