In lacklustre trade, gold and silver, recovered modestly on the domestic bullion market on Wednesday on renewed buying by stockists and investors on the back of record global cues.
Standard gold (99.5 purity) went up by Rs 45 for 10 gm and closed at Rs 23,205.Pure gold (99.9 purity) rose by Rs 50 for 10 gm and finished at Rs 23,315.
Silver ready (.999 fineness) firmed up by Rs 65 a kg and ended at Rs 59,520.
Chennai: Bar silver: Rs 59,960; standard gold: Rs 23,380; retail ornament gold (22 carat a gm): Rs 2,186.
Hyderabad: Standard gold (24 carat) for 10 gm: Rs 23,490; ornamental gold (22 carat) for 10 gm: Rs 22,920–23,020; silver (.999) (a kg): Rs 60,100
Kolkata: Silver ready: Rs 59,400; gold ready: Rs 23,550.
