Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange opened higher at Rs 30,933 per 10 grams on Friday against the previous close of Rs 30,952.
December contract made a high of Rs 30,933 and low of Rs 30,812. It was trading down 0.37 per cent at Rs 30,836 at 1.10 pm.
In Comex, the December contract was down by $6 at $1,710 a troy ounce.
Besides a weak trend in the international markets, the appreciation of rupee against dollar pulled down gold prices in India.
