Silver prices went up by 0.31 per cent to Rs 39,340 per kg in futures trading today as participants built up fresh positions amid positive cues from overseas markets. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month July rose by Rs 120, or 0.31 per cent to Rs 39,340 per kg in business turnover of three lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May contract was trading higher by Rs 96, or 0.25 per cent to Rs 38,808 per kg in 262 lots. Traders attributed the rise in silver prices at futures trade to a firm trend overseas.
Globally, silver rose 0.18 per cent to USD 16.50 an ounce in Singapore today.
