Silver prices fell 0.24 per cent at the futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions even as the white metal edged higher overseas.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July lost Rs 88 or 0.24 per cent to Rs 36,592 per kg with a turnover of 359 lots.
Also, the white metal for delivery in far-month September fell Rs 62 or 0.17 per cent down at Rs 37,165 per kg in a turnover of 11 lots.
Marketmen said off-loading of positions by participants at prevailing levels mainly led to a fall in silver prices at the futures trade here but a better trend overseas capped the losses.
Globally, silver was trading higher at $16.14 an ounce from $16.10 on Friday.
