Silver prices traded higher by 0.12 per cent to Rs 38,827 per kg at the futures market as participants raised bets owing to positive cues from global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July rose Rs 48 or 0.12 per cent to Rs 38,827 per kg in a business turnover of 268 lots. In a similar fashion, the white metal for delivery in May was trading higher by Rs 43 or 0.11 per cent at Rs 38,800 per kg in 178 lots.
Traders said widening of positions by participants on the back of a firm trend overseas led to rise in silver prices at the futures trade. Globally, silver rose 0.15 per cent to $16.53 an ounce in Singapore.
