Tracking a firm trend overseas, silver prices rose 0.39 per cent to Rs 39,637 per kg at the futures trade today as traders built up fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December rose Rs 153 or 0.39 per cent to Rs 39,637 per kg in a business turnover of 988 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by participants in line with a firm trend in global markets led to the rise in silver prices at the futures trade.
Globally, silver rose 0.47 per cent to $17 an ounce in Singapore.
