Silver prices fell Rs 52 to Rs 39,213 per kg at the futures trade today as buyers trimmed their positions owing to weak global cues.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December was trading lower by Rs 52 or 0.13 per cent at Rs 39,213 per kg in a business turnover of 187 lots. The metal for delivery in far-month March too lost Rs 6 or 0.02 per cent to Rs 39,858 per kg in a business volume of four lots.
In the international market, silver was trading 0.12 per cent down at $16.81 an ounce in Singapore today.
Marketmen attributed the fall in silver prices at the futures trade to trimming of positions by participants in sync with a weak trend in precious metals in the global market.
