The combined market valuation of top seven companies surged by Rs 34,645.72 crore last week, with SBI emerging as the biggest gainer.

While ONGC, HDFC Bank, CIL, Sun Pharmaceutical, Infosys, SBI and HDFC saw rise in their market capitalisation (m-cap), TCS, RIL and ITC suffered losses.

SBI’s m-cap surged by Rs 19,331.66 crore to Rs 2,17,414.98 crore. The market value of HDFC soared by Rs 7,674.51 crore to Rs 1,94,330.51 crore, while ONGC added Rs 2,395.53 crore to Rs 2,72,449.58 crore.

HDFC Bank’s valuation moved up by Rs 1,868.34 crore to Rs 2,48,314.39 crore and that of CIL rose Rs 1,642.25 crore to Rs 2,31,273.68 crore.

The m-cap of Sun Pharma gained Rs 1,532.44 crore to Rs 2,27,750.28 crore and Infosys added Rs 200.99 crore to Rs 2,25,071.87 crore.

On the contrary, RIL’s valuation tanked by Rs 5,161.58 crore to Rs 2,82,818.71 crore, while TCS lost Rs 4,123.12 crore to Rs 4,91,572.17 crore.

ITC’s market cap dipped by Rs 1,563.03 crore to Rs 2,61,386.09 crore.

In the ranking of top-10 firms, TCS stood at number one position, followed by RIL, ONGC, ITC, HDFC Bank, CIL, Sun Pharma, Infosys, SBI and HDFC.

The Sensex ended the week with a gain of 218.61 points or 0.81 per cent at 27,324.00. The index has gained 312.69 points or 1.16 per cent in the last two weeks.
