Mid-cap IT stocks on a roll

While the CNX IT index itself was trading in negative territory, several tier-II IT stocks were on a song, hitting fresh 52-week highs on the NSE in the morning trade today.

Among the four IT majors, it was only TCS that was in the green with Wipro, Infosys and HCL Tech were down.

eClerx Services Ltd (eClerx), a knowledge process outsourcing company that boasts of a string of Fortune 500 clients, surged to a new yearly high of Rs 1,371 on the NSE before easing to Rs 1,336.95, a gain of Rs 104.30.

MindTree shares zoomed to Rs 1,713.20, a new yearly high, before the stock shed some of the gains to move down to Rs 1,686.75, a gain of Rs 69.65.

Persistent Systems was another stock to touch a fresh 52-week high of Rs 1,081.55 before the stock eased to Rs 1,045.50, a gain of Rs 34.30. NIIT Tech also reached a new 52-week high of Rs 449.90 before being down marginally to Rs 447.45, a gain of Rs 10.20.

Among the four IT majors, only TCS was in the green, up by Rs 15.65 at Rs 2,213.60.

Wipro was down by Rs 1.80 at Rs 563.75, Infosys lost Rs 38.90 to trade at Rs 3,714.50 and HCL Tech was down by Rs 14.25 at Rs 1,480.10. Tech Mahindra was trading at Rs 1,831.90, a loss of Rs 10.95.

The CNX IT index was down by about 26 points.
