Nimesh Shah, MD and CEO, ICICI Prudential AMC, has taken over as Chairman of the Association of Mutual Funds in India, the industry body of asset management companies.
Shah takes over the new responsibility in AMFI from A Balasubramanian, CEO of Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company.
Kailash Kulkarni, MD & CEO of L&T Investment Management will continue as the Vice-Chairman of AMFI.
Nimesh Shah has over 25 years experience in the banking and financial services industry.
Prior to ICICI Prudential AMC he was associated with ICICI Bank where he handled many responsibilities including project finance, corporate banking and international banking.
Meanwhile, Tata Asset Management announced the appointment of Rahul Singh as its Chief Investment Officer — Equities. In this role, Singh will lead the fund management and equity research teams. He has begun his new role on Monday. He has over 23 years of investment experience. An alumnus of IIM-Lucknow, he joins Tata Asset Management from Ampersand Capital Investment Advisors LLP where he was Managing Partner. Prior to Ampersand Capital, he worked with Standard Chartered Securities and Citigroup Global Markets India.
Rahul, Prathit Bhobe, CEO & MD, Tata AMC, said he joins the AMC at an exciting time with the mutual fund industry witnessing explosive growth in the recent past.
