Indian markets ended the session marginally in the green on buying by funds and retail investors in select stocks amid firm global cues.

The 30-share BSE index Sensex was up 27.67 points or 0.13 per cent at 21,170.68 and the 50-share NSE index Nifty was up 12.9 points or 0.21 per cent at 6,304.

Except metal and FMCG, all other BSE sectoral indices ended in the green.

Among them, power, oil & gas, capital goods and consumer durables sector stocks gained the most by 0.6 per cent, 0.52 per cent, 0.21 per cent and 0.18 per cent, respectively.

On the other hand, metal index was down 0.21 per cent and FMCG 0.06 per cent.

Tata Power, Wipro, RIL, Axis Bank and Hindalco were the top five Sensex gainers, while the top five losers were BHEL, Maruti, M&M, HDFC Bank and Infosys.

European and Asian stocks were up ahead of US consumer sentiment data.
