Equities and commodities market regulator SEBI has outlined various methods by which minimum public shareholding of 25 per cent can be achieved by companies. Outlining seven different methods by which minimum public shareholding can be achieved, SEBI said offer for sale through prospectus, sale of promoter holding using secondary market, and institutional placement programme were also options, besides the use of bonus or rights issues with the promoter foregoing their entitlement, according to SEBI’s circular on Monday.
