Asian markets fell on Monday as investors remained cautious ahead of a Greek vote on unpopular fiscal austerity measures this week.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 77.27 points or 0.8 per cent to 9,601.44. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 146.6 points or 0.66 per cent to 22,025.35. Singapore’s Straits Times was down 20.3 points or 0.66 per cent at 3,046.55. South Korea’s Kospi was down 17.84 points or 0.85 per cent at 2,072.97.
Australia’s S&P/Asx 200 fell 47.1 points or 1.04 per cent to 4,461.00. China’s Shanghai Composite was up 10.41 points or 0.38 per cent at 2,756.62. Taiwan’s Taiex was down 33.04 points or 0.39 per cent at 8,499.79.
