Cairn India Ltd continued to sizzle in the market today, gaining 5.11 per cent or Rs 15.65 to close at Rs 322 on the NSE. The stock witnessed a trading volume of 47.12 lakh shares in the exchange.
SBI, however, was the biggest gainer in terms of value, up by Rs 34.85 to close at Rs 2,001. Reliance Infra, which gained Rs 18.10 to end the day at Rs 475.10, and Infosys, which was up by Rs 14.55 to close at Rs 2,840.50, were the other major gainers.
Among the significant losers were Bajaj Auto that was down by Rs 24.75 to end at Rs 1,720, HCL Tech which lost Rs 11.05 at Rs 427.70, Sun Pharma which was down by Rs 14.40 to close at Rs 498.75 and BPCL which ended at Rs 603.55 with a loss of Rs 20.80.
