BHEL was on a roll on the bourses on Monday. It emerged the top gainer on the NSE as well in late trading. At 2.30 pm it was up 4.68 per cent at ₹251.65 as against its previous close at ₹240.40.

The markets remained shut on Thursday and Friday for Diwali.

Kotak Mahindra Bank also made rapid strides to hold gains of 2.40 per cent near the close. It was trading at ₹1,087 as against ₹1,061.55 previously.

Private lender IndusInd Bank edged down from its morning levels to quote at ₹700, This was a gain of 2.39 per cent on Wednesday’s close at ₹683.65.

Bank of Baroda also came off its morning levels to quote at ₹904.5. This was a gain of 1.72 per cent on its previous close at ₹889.20.

Coal India shone in late trading. It was quoting at ₹358.30, up 1.70 per cent on its previous close at ₹352.30.
