Asian stocks were trading in a mixed range on Friday, as investors shunned risk on concerns about the pace of policy tightening within the region and heightened tensions in Egypt.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 32.39 points or 0.14 per cent to 22,741.01. Singapore’s Straits Times was down 12.56 points or 0.4 per cent at 3,090.83. South Korea’s Kospi was up 10.64 points or 0.53 per cent at 2,019.14.
Australia’s S&P/Asx 200 fell 10.5 points or 0.21 per cent to 4,903.90. China’s Shanghai Composite was down 2.54 points or 0.09 per cent at 2,815.62. Taiwan’s Taiex shed 53.49 points or 0.61 per cent to 8,783.07.
Japan’s market is closed today for a national holiday.
