Asian shares were trading in a mixed pattern on Wednesday as investors were worried over the possible effects of a nuclear crisis in Japan, violence in Libya and unrest in West Asia.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 78.03 points or 0.81 per cent to 9,530.29. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 38.07 points or 0.17 per cent to 22,819.83. Singapore’s Straits Times gained 15.77 points or 0.53 per cent to 3,018.52. South Korea’s Kospi was up 4.66 points or 0.23 per cent at 2,018.32.
Australia’s S&P/Asx 200 was up 11.5 points or 0.25 per cent at 4,654.90. China’s Shanghai Composite rose 22.74 points or 0.78 per cent to 2,941.88. Taiwan’s Taiex climbed 24.03 points or 0.28 per cent to 8,532.07.
