Asian shares were trading in a mixed range today as worries about corporate earnings offset a rebound in metal and oil prices.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 gained 8.45 points or 0.09 per cent to 9,802.83. Singapore’s Straits Times was up 9.47 points or 0.3 per cent at 3,146.41. Australia’s S&P/Asx 200 was down 7.6 points or 0.16 per cent at 4,749.20. New Zealand’s NZX 50 rose 10.42 points or 0.3 per cent to 3,529.40.
Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur Composite was up 1.86 points or 0.12 per cent at 1,521.27. Indonesia’s Jakarta Composite was up 6.33 points or 0.17 per cent at 3,791.78. China’s Shanghai Composite gained 9.11 points or 0.32 per cent to 2,881.57. Taiwan’s Taiex was down 8.79 points or 0.1 per cent at 9,026.69.
