Energy stocks were on a roll in the markets late on Friday. At the close, Power Grid Corporation was the top gainer on the NSE, trading at ₹144.20. This represented a 2.63 per cent gain on its previous close at ₹140.50.
Reliance Industries also made further ground to hold gains of 2.53 per cent at ₹1,031.95 as against its overnight finish at ₹1,006.50.
HDFC Bank was up 2.37 per cent at ₹856.65. The stock had ended yesterday’s session at ₹836.80.
Dr Reddy’s Labs edged down from its morning levels to hold gains of 1.49 per cent at ₹2,678.35. The stock had finished the previous session at ₹2,639.05.
GAIL (India) rode up 1.29 per cent at ₹465 as against its previous close at ₹459.10.
