Anil Ambani-led Reliance Communications and Reliance Power will be excluded from the NSE Nifty-50, said a report from India Index Services & Products Ltd (IISP), a joint venture of NSE and CRISIL.
The Index Maintenance Sub-Committee of IISP has decided to replace the above mentioned companies with Bank of Baroda and Asian Paints on the S&P CNX Nifty Index.
On the CNX Nifty Junior Index, Asian Paints, Bank of Baroda, Housing Development and Infrastructure ltd, IFCI Ltd and IOB will be excluded.
Divi's Laboraties, GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare, Petronet LNG, Reliance Communications and Reliance Power will be included in the index.
These changes will come into effect from April 27, 2012.
Reliance Communications closed at Rs 98.50, down 1.60 per cent while Reliance Power closed at Rs 135.65, down 1.20 per cent on the NSE.
