SBI Mutual Fund on Thursday announced the launch of an open-ended gold fund - SBI Gold Fund. The new fund offer opens on August 22, and closes on September 5, said a press release from the company.

The funds collected through this will be invested in the SBI Gold Exchange Traded Scheme. The investment into the fund can be done through a single investment plan or through Systematic Investment Plan (SIP).

The minimum amount of investment into the fund is Rs 5,000 and in multiples of Re.1, thereafter. For the SIP transactions, the minimum denomination for the SIP is Rs 100 a month with the aggregate minimum amount of investment to be Rs 6,000.
