Banking sector stocks continued to trade firm and led the pack on the NSE near the close on Tuesday.
At 2.40 pm State Bank of India was the top gainer, trading at ₹2,495, up 3.48 per cent on its previous close of ₹2,411.05.
ICICI Bank inched up to trade at ₹1,387.25. This represented a gain of 3.20 per cent on its overnight close of ₹1,344.25.
Bank of Baroda held steady at its morning levels. It kept its gains at 2.87 per cent at ₹820.05. The share had ended the previous session at ₹797.15.
NMDC shed some of its morning gains to quote at ₹166.85, a gain of 2.84 per cent. The stock had ended Monday’s session at ₹162.25.
Punjab National Bank built gains of 2.30 per cent at ₹920.80. The share was quoting at ₹900.10 at the close yesterday.
