SEBI has selected four candidates for the post of Executive Director (ED).
Mr J. Ranganaykulu, the present ED (legal) has been given another term and his appointment was the first to be cleared on Friday. His first term at SEBI was to expire on August 13.
Mr S. Ravindran, Chief General Manager in charge of Mutual Funds at SEBI, has been appointed the second Executive Director.
Mr S. Raman, an Indian Audit and Accounts Service Officer on Special Duty at SEBI in charge of the Integrated Surveillance Department, has also been selected for the post of Executive Director. He was to complete his current term by the fourth quarter of this calendar year and has been given another three-year term.
The fourth ED is Mr R.K. Padmanabhan, a Maharashtra cadre IPS officer, now serving as Special IGP & Chief Vigilance Officer at Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) in Mumbai. Prior to his MHADA assignment, he headed the security department at Air India.
