The BSE benchmark Sensex ended the session flat on Monday due to mixed trend among sectoral indices amid weak Asian cues.
At 3.30 p.m., the Sensex was up 41.01 points at 18,901.45 and the Nifty was up 7.7 points at 5,662.25.
Volume toppers during the session were Reliance Infra, SBI, RIL, Tata Steel and L&T. Major Sensex gainers were ITC, Infosys, HDFC, HDFC Bank, SBI, TCS and Bharti Airtel. ICICI Bank, L&T and Sterlite Industries were the major losers.
Among the sectoral indices, IT was up 1.93%, teck 1.49%, FMCG 0.5% and bankex 0.37%. Realty was down 2.31%, capital goods 1.54%, metal 1.21% and power 1%. Of the total 2,997 stocks traded, 871 advanced, 2,026 declined and 100 remained unchanged.
