Auto and pharma stocks were on a firm wicket near the close on the NSE on Thursday. While the morning session on the BSE was cut short on account of a technical hitch, trading on the NSE continued as usual.
Tata Motors was the top gainer on the NSE at 2.50 pm. It was trading at ₹469.55, up 3.02 per cent on its previous close of ₹455.80.
Sun Pharma Industries rose 2.29 per cent at ₹709.25. The stock had ended yesterday’s session at ₹693.40.
Wipro was also in the limelight, having posted gains of 2.14 per cent at ₹552.45. The stock was quoting at ₹540.85 at close overnight.
M&M advanced 1.70 per cent at ₹1,240.50. It had ended yesterday’s session at ₹1,219.75.
Lupin perked up 1.12 per cent at ₹1,086.25 as against ₹1,074.20 at close on Wednesday.
