Airline stocks rose amidst reports of slash in aviation turbine fuel or jet fuel price.
A media report said that jet fuel price had been cut by Rs 515.85/kL effective today.
Jet Airways rose as much as 2.7 per cent in morning trade. At about 12 noon, it was quoting at Rs 546.80, up Rs 6.75 or 1.25 per cent.
InterGlobe Aviation also climbed as much as 2.4 per cent before trading at Rs 816.75, up Rs 5.50 or 0.68 per cent.
SpiceJet Ltd gained as much as 3 per cent and at about 12 noon was quoting at Rs 65, up Rs 1.20 or 1.88 per cent.
Jet fuel is the biggest cost for low-budget carriers and accounted for about 40 per cent of the cost.
