Asian shares were trading firm on Thursday after US Federal Reserve policymakers voted unanimously to maintain a $600-billion bond-buying plan to fuel an economic recovery.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 was up 27.52 points or 0.26 per cent at 10,429.42. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng climbed 117.86 points or 0.49 per cent to 23,961.10. Singapore’s Straits Times was down 0.65 points or 0.02 per cent at 3,220.13. South Korea’s Kospi was up 5.57 points or 0.26 per cent at 2,116.03.
Australia’s S&P/Asx 200 was down 1 points or 0.02 per cent at 4,806.80. China’s Shanghai Composite gained 32.17 points or 1.19 per cent to 2,740.98. Taiwan’s Taiex rose 60.69 points or 0.67 per cent to 9,116.28. — Agencies
