Bajaj Auto made rapid progress in the second half of the session to emerge the top gainer on the BSE near the close on Thursday. At 3.20 pm the share was trading at Rs 2,498 as against Rs 2,395 at close yesterday.
Larsen & Toubro also made strides to post gains of 3.34 per cent at Rs 1,808. The share had closed the overnight session at Rs 1,749.60.
GAIL (India) sailed up 3.21 per cent at Rs 411.60 as against Rs 398.80 at close yesterday.
HDFC edged up further to hold gains of 2.17 per cent at Rs 1,308.45 against Rs 1,280.70 at close yesterday.
Vedanta also moved up higher to build gains of 1.93 per cent at Rs 179.40 against Rs 176 at close last evening.
