Cairn India surged 3.62 per cent to lead the pack on the NSE near the close on Monday. At 3.15 pm the share was trading at Rs 187.3 as against Rs 180.75 at close last week. The share gained as the London-listed Vedanta Resources offered to buy out minorities in Cairn India as part of a $2.3 billion merger of its India arms, Vedanta Ltd and Cairn India.
Sun Pharma held on to its firm undertone to trade at Rs 838.90. This was a gain of 3.12 per cent on its previous close at Rs 813.55.
Idea Cellular made strides in the afternoon session to trade at Rs 175.20. This represented a gain of 2.79 per cent on last week’s close at Rs 170.45.
M&M held on to its morning gains to trade at Rs 1,220.30, up 2.29 per cent on last week’s close at Rs 1,192.95.
HDFC built gains of 2.05 per cent to quote at Rs 1,214.75. The share had closed Friday’s session at Rs 1,190.40.
